Airtel writes other telcos to initiate intra-circle roaming to ensure uninterrupted connectivity

Bharti Airtel has encouraged Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea, BSNL and MTNL to initiate intra-circle roaming to guarantee consistent availability as urban areas go under lockdown due to Covid-19 or coronavirus outbreak.

“This will be especially significant, where a site is closed or where the TSP can’t deal with the up time, so that, we can on the whole guarantee that the administrations are not interfered with,” Airtel said in letter to different telcos, the telecom division and TRAI.

The most recent advancement will be in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP-17) for Telecommunication Services for reacting to Disasters, as gave by Department of Telecommunications.

Randeep Sekhon, Airtel CTO had independently informed that Airtel was completely arranged to help any exigency as its systems begins to work in the Business Continuity Planning (BCP) mode when the interest for data transfer capacity floods and more individuals progressively begin to telecommute to contain the spread of Covid-19 or coronavirus.
